Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well. Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter. Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device. Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them. First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present. Once done, now perform a clean install of the printer software. Then turn on the printer and other devices. Again wait for a couple of minutes so that the lights are all steady. Wait till all the lights are steady and idle. Make sure all the devices in the network are turned off / unplugged. Turn off all the devices connected on your network including the PC, Smartphones, printer, modem (if present) and router. Let's try a network power drain and then clean install the printer to fix this issue. And when I tried to update the firmware, the HP Update Installer couldn't see what type printer I have. Also HP Support Assistant can't even identify if a printer is even connected. It says that my computer and the printer are on two separate networks. It can see the printer, but then when it tries to connect and communicate from that program, it can't. When I say that the computer is not communicating with the printer, I am quoting from HP Print and Scan Doctor when I try to use it. Thank you for your response and effort to help. Check whether the printer page (Printer EWS) is opening or not. Now open a web browser on your computer and then enter this IP address in the address bar. Obtain the printer IP address of the printer by touching the wireless icon on the printer control panel. How is that possible when the printer is not communicating over the network?
